Overview

The Blueprint extract gives you a comprehensive, structured view of your configuration — covering record types, statuses, actions, forms, notifications, and select lists — directly from the System Administration space. This provides self-service access to the details of your configuration, anytime you need it, and always up-to-date.

Enabling the Blueprint Extract

The Blueprint extract is available for all users designated as administrators.

For information on granting the admin role, see the Administrator Role & Workspace documentation .

Generating a Blueprint

The Blueprint extract is accessed per module / application. To generate one, navigate to the System Administration space and select the relevant module, then the Blueprint menu option. You can trigger the extract either for the entire module, or for a specific form. Note that the form option includes a preview function to help ensure you are selecting the correct form. Regardless of which option you choose, the file will be generated and available for download within seconds.

What's Included

A form-specific download includes a single tab with the configuration of that form / UI.

The full module extract is a structured Excel file with multiple tabs, covering the active configuration for the selected application. Inactive items are excluded throughout.

The file includes:

  • Index — provides an overview of the file and clickable links if you are working in Excel. Note that Google Sheets is unable to convert the index links correctly when importing from Excel, so if you are working in Google Sheets the index provides an overview of the file contents rather than a navigable list.

  • Record Types & Statuses — all record types and the statuses available per type

  • Actions — one row per action, including: the record type it applies to, which statuses it is available in, who can take the action (conditions and access groups), all child action names, the name of the associated email notification (if relevant), and the name of any associated form

  • Forms — one tab per form, including all form content

  • Notifications — consolidated on a single tab, including the content of each notification

  • Custom Select Lists — all active select lists and their values

Extract History

Every extract that has been generated is retained and accessible within the System Administration space. For each entry, you can see the module, the date and time it was generated, the user who generated it, and a link to the file.

This history can serve as a reference point over time, allowing you to compare current and previous versions of your configuration.

Additional Information

  • The Blueprint extract reflects your active configuration only. Inactive items are excluded throughout.

  • The extract is available per module / application. If your implementation spans multiple modules, you will need to generate a separate extract for each.

  • This feature is provided as a BETA release. Feedback on how it can be made more useful or user-friendly is welcome — please share any thoughts with your GAN Integrity representative.
