If you have an AI Creator licence, you can build a Story from the visuals on your dashboards. You describe the report you want, choose the visuals to include, and Stories drafts a titled narrative that places your charts alongside text describing what they show. It gives you a head start on reports like a board update or a programme review.
Build A Story
To build a Story, go to the Stories section in Reporting & Analytics and select New Story. The Story opens in the editor with the Build story panel on the right.
Add the visuals you want to include. Under Select visuals, select Add to open Add visuals. Find a dashboard under My Pinboard, Favorites, Recent or All dashboards, or search with Find your dashboards, then tick each visual you want.
In Describe your story, describe the report you want in as much detail as you can, so you get the best draft, then select Build. Stories drafts the report and shows Loading visuals... while it works. The draft comes back as a titled report with sections of text and your visuals placed through it.
Refine Your Story
Select any text in the Story and edit it directly, the same way you would in a document.
To change the look, open Story style and choose a theme from Minimal, Modern, Vivid, Dusk or Lush. Under Animations, choose None, Fade or Slide. To change the cover, select the Story cover and open Story cover background, where you can set a Color or choose from Art.
If the draft isn't right, adjust your brief or your selected visuals in the Build story panel and build again.
From the File menu, you can open Story format and choose how the Story is laid out. Scrollable page presents it as one continuous page, and Slideshow presents it as a set of slides.
Preview And Share
Select Preview to see the Story as a reader will see it. In preview, the visuals show current snapshots of the data. Select Back to Editor to return and keep editing.
When you're happy with the Story, select Share. In Share story, add the people or groups you want under Add users and groups, then select Publish & Share. People who have access appear under Shared with.
A Story is a draft, so read the text and check the figures before you share it.
Known Limitations
We're working with Amazon to resolve a few limitations in AI Stories.
When you share a Story, a recipient can appear as an ID rather than their email address until the Story has been shared. Once it's shared, their email address is shown.
The notification email for a shared Story currently links to a URL that the recipient (the person you shared with) won't have access to. They can still open the Story from within Reporting & Analytics rather than from the email.
The Copy link option on the story sharing window isn't currently active.
