The dashboards and reports themselves are interactive and customizable in GAN ICM. By hovering over a visual representation, a kebab (three vertical dots) options menu presents the interaction options for that specific chart. Additionally, by left-clicking (on a mouse or touchpad), customization options are presented to the user. For each of the respective compliance processes, individual users have the ability to:

  • hover over data points
  • expand and contract individual charts on the dashboard
  • export to various file formats
  • customize chart types
  • customize theme (color schema)
  • change data sort
  • reports allow to drill-down further into the data

When changing the color schema, GAN recommends the following:

  • Standard default color palette
  • Autumn sunset
  • Color blind - color palette designed for users suffering from color blindness
  • Gray tone - color palette that works well for print

By hovering over a visual representation, a kebab (three vertical dots) menu presents the interaction options for that specific chart.

By left-clicking (on a mouse or touchpad), customization options are presented to the user.

Dashboard customization is not saved, thus, any changes made are only active for that individual user’s session. Report customization, on the other hand, has multiple save and clear options, which are elaborated further below.

Expand Tile

Expand Tile will fill the entire canvas with a specific visual representation. Once expanded, this option becomes Collapse Tile and will restore the tile back to its original size and location.

Refresh Report

Refresh Report will refresh the data for a specific chart to ensure the most updated data is visually reflected.

The entire dashboard can be refreshed through the refresh button, which can also be dragged vertically on the screen as not to obscure any relevant information. Depending on the volume of data represented, this option may take longer to refresh as all visualization are refreshed simultaneously.

Export

  • Excel: This downloads the visualizations and data as an Excel file.
Recommended to create tables and charts that are in a visually presentable form.
  • PDF: This downloads the visualization and data as a PDF file.
Recommended when sharing a locked presentation or for printing a snapshot of data up until the date of export.
  • RTF: This downloads the report as an editable file in rich text format (.rtf) that can be opened using a word processor or text editor such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages, etc.
Recommended to enhance the dashboard with additional text or analysis, but note that the export may look different depending on the third-party software used.
  • CSV: This downloads the report as a Comma Separated Value (.csv) file.
Recommended for larger data sets or to extract data for further processing such as other Business Intelligence tools.

Visualization Customization

Depending on the type of chart, visualizations have a number of customizable features, which are selectable by a user through left-clicking (on a mouse or touchpad).

Type of Chart visuals

  • Pie and Other Types - doughnut, pyramid, funnel
  • Line and Other Types - line, spline, area, spline area, zoom'
  • Bar - horizontal bar chart enhanced through 3D styling
  • Column - vertical bar chart, pareto

Both Line and Bar charts allow sorting data either by labels or by values, while Pie charts support rotating and pull out slices.

Formatting

Text in tables can be customized through Font, Size, Color, Background color, Text decoration, Alignment, and Word wrap.

This overwrites the original report.
